Nursing. Over 300 students and faculty members

| The Quintiles team from their Access to Patient Services paid a visit to Bilcare Research Academy on 11th May 2009. The team was headed by Dr. Chris Cabell, the Director of Global Access to Patient Service, and had Mr. Evarist Duarte Monteiro, the Director for India, Mr. Ashley D'Souza the Asst Director of the group. They were accompanied by Dr. James Garner, Regional Medical Director, based at Singapore. While addressing the students Dr. Chris complimented Bilcare on the excellent training being imparted to students, and assured that Quintiles will continue to source staff from Bilcare.

Students of Batch III and Batch
IV appeared for CKA examination.

| Students of Batch III and Batch IV appeared for the on line examination conducted by ACRP on 10th of May 2009. This examination, known as the Core Knowledge Assessment is a prerequisite for the award of the Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research. Bilcare students have always done well in ACRP examinations and the passing percentage has been 90 and 96% in the first two batches.

| On March 2, 2009, Dr. Madhuri Jadhav of Sanofi-Aventis visited the Bilcare Research Academy. Dr. Jadhav heads the International Clinical Research Group in Sanofi. Dr. Jadhav is a pharmacist and has a passion for teaching. She spoke to the students of the academy on current trends in clinical research and promised to visit the academy to regularly interact with the students.

leading pharma company.

Academy faculty, comprising of the Dean Dr. R. B. Ghooi, Consultant Ms. Soumi Duttagupta and Ms. Manjiri Joshi conducted a 2-day workshop for clinical research staff of leading pharma company at their Andheri office. The workshop was on Advanced GCP training, and was the first of the series of corporate programs being organized by Bilcare. The next workshop is scheduled for the end of May.

| The students of the academy were fortunate to have Dr. C. L. Kaul visiting the academy on the 23rd of Feb 2009. Dr. Kaul is one of the best-known pharmacologists of the country. Dr. Kaul is the former Director of the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Chandigarh, and has served the pharmaceutical Industry for over 25 years. He spoke to the students on the new paradigms of new drug development.

the occasion and gave away the Diplomas. Eminent

| Three
batches of students began their PGDCR course at
Pune and Bengaluru. The inaugaration programmes
held simultaneously at both the campuses had Dr.
A.S Nanivadekar and Ms Lavissa Singh as Chief
Guests at Pune and Bengaluru respectively. Totally
120 students started their journey to an exciting

USA in Singapore on 18th December 2007. At the
inauguration, a gathering of eminent scientists
from the field of clinical research graced the

| The second ACRP chapter was inaugurated at a glittering function held on 17th December 2007 in Bangalore campus. Mr. Thomas Adams, President and CEO, ACRP inaugurated the second Indian Chapter of ACRP, in Bangalore. Leaders from the Pharmaceutical and Clinical Research Industry graced the occasion. A talk by Dr. John L. LaMattina, on "Clinical Research Harmonization" was the highlight of the function. Students of the academy and members of the press interacted with the guests from Industry. |

| Bilcare Research Academy, Bangalore was inaugurated jointly by Dr. John L. LaMattina Senior Vice President, Pfizer Inc. and President, Pfizer Global Research and Development and Smt. Usha Ganesh, IAS Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka on 17th December 2007. The Bangalore campus is situated in the premises of the Bangalore Diabetes Hospital, where a large number of clinical trials are on the way. Students at Bangalore will have the advantage of working closely with clinical trials while pursuing their studies. |
