Bilcare launches Research Academy in partnership with ACRP, US

Bilcare Research on May 16, 2007 announced the launch of the Bilcare Research Academy in partnership with Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP), US. The academy shall open up 25 centers in India and other parts of Asia by 2010 with an initial investment of Rs 200 million. This will be the first ever ACRP accredited professional educational course in the Asian region brought through an exclusive tie-up. ACRP will also establish its Indian chapter and launch its activities in the entire South East Asia.

Thomas L. Adams, CAE president & chief executive officer of  said, 'ACRP and Bilcare have a common interest to enhance the capability, competency and expertise of the professionals engaged in developing, monitoring, conducting and supervising clinical trials in India and other Asian countries by way of specialized training programs. The first phase of our partnership will focus on programs in India and Singapore, to be followed in a second phase by Thailand, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and China.'

Under this agreement, Bilcare Research Academy will offer one year postgraduate diploma accredited by ACRP in clinical trials management to graduates of pharmacy, life sciences and medicine. Bilcare will also conduct continuing education programmes for professionals already in the field of clinical research.

ACRP was founded in 1976 to address the distinct educational and networking needs of professionals involved in clinical research. ACRP is headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia with a European office in Windsor. The company will shortly open its Indian chapter in Pune.
